If the FBI thought a rail-thin 18-year-old toting a pump-action shotgun was a "credible threat", imagine how threatening she would have been if she approached any high school in America NAKED. Seven or more teenage boys would have keeled over from loss of blood from their head to their lower extremity.
Sadly, this young woman was, as they say in less progressive circles, "YAFCO" for "Yet another Florida Crazy-oid". She had exited the mental I-95 Turnpike years earlier, like around Cocoa Beach. Whoever sold her the gun locally was also not in their right mind either, but this is a very sad thing, both for Colorado schoolchildren (actually, their parents), and for this lady, who didn't deserve to be killed for being an undiagnosed or untreated schizophrenic, or in the manic phase of a bipolar disorder.

This is the stuff of Fahrenheit 451, where we have a too aggressive enforcement system making a spectacle of killing, and forcing people into corners who might not otherwise get there on their own. Back to another baffling case, that of the renegade Roomba.
And as a final update, as the Denver Post used to say, "We investigated this completely, and none of it proved to be true." She died with her boots and camouflage on, if the Clear Creek County sheriff is to be trusted:
