Did climate change cause the Notre Dame conflag?
The current cathedral replaces this one crafted in the 9th century out of butter, which global warming also melted |
Probably. If you were waiting to see how long it would be before climate change was invoked to explain the fire at Notre Dame de Paris cathedral, or to compare the destruction to the destruction unloosed by climate change, you didn't have to wait long.
Similarly, the New York Times compared the spread of the fire to the ongoing melting of the polar ice caps, the water from which had not yet risen high enough to help extinguish the flames.
The cathedral resembles a boat, and was constructed with the prescience that Paris would be completely underwater no later than 2027 |
