Can we get another “Thank God”?

Image
Remember, when Larimer County issued the mask mandate, our mayor, who doesn’t like wearing a mask, said “Thank God”, as if somehow the lack of a mandate was keeping her from wearing a mask, or had been impeding her ability to govern as she wished.  Now that we are removing something no one was enforcing, and she doesn’t care about one way or the other, as long as her fingers are free for wagging, we can get back to our normal way of life, meaning hospitalizations and death among those who don’t believe COVID is a “thing”.

Situation normal, last laugh, etc.

Image
Kiss my a** is an effective rejoinder provided you don’t die shortly after.

When will it slow down?

Image
Not anytime soon, obviously.  Larimer County is rethinking the mask mandate.  What does that mean?  Are they thinking about having a mask mandate?  Because, walking around Safeway, I wouldn't see much evidence of a Larimer County mask mandate.  Am I missing something?  When they do away with the mask mandate, will deaths in Larimer County go up or down?  Will anyone care, except the unvaccinated family members of the unvaccinated deceased, who will blame the government regardless of whether there is a mask mandate or there isn't a mask mandate?  I'm actually perfectly fine with doing away with the mask mandate, because it won't change anything in Estes Park - The people who want to wear masks will still wear masks, the people who want to risk death will still be out there calling the vaccine a death shot and filling up our hospital beds.  Maybe the county has finally gotten smart - You can only lead a dumb horse to water 15 times before realizing it thinks the water i

We will reach 900,000 U.S. deaths by the end of January

Worldometers tends to run a bit "hot", and over-count deaths compared to the Johns Hopkins covid map (or undercount if deniers are dying in their homes and allowing spouses to incinerate them in gas ovens, since, apparently, they believe the current administration is worse than Nazis), but regardless, things are not slowing down despite the "wimpiness" and benignity of Omicron.

And now back to your regularly scheduled 2000

Amped up a bit because, well, it's the weekend and you know the drill.

Candidate #2 - The only other candidate to attend the candidate forum

In WWII, the average age of the combat soldier was 26.  On Moraine Avenue, the construction date of the Park Theatre tower was 29.  T-t-t-twenty nine.  Nineteen.  Twenty Nine.

This just takes your breath away

January in Estes Park will see 500 Covid cases [imagine, 500 cases in a month when we recorded less than 500 cases in an entire year, with 16 of those attributed to the Chamber of Commerce CEO's extended family] among a winter population of, what, maybe 3000?  If that?  This is unprecedented, and will go largely ignored, because it's just wimpy Omicron, right?  For those of you who are so sure Omicron is just something to laugh at, and then catch your breath, and then laugh at again, and then go on supplemental oxygen, and then laugh at again, and then get hooked up to ECMO, and then laugh at again, and then demand the doctor give you Ivermectin while they are sedating you for the intubation, you are seeing the numbers continue to surpass 2000 each day.   Why would this be the case, Bent Dick Turd Fergison?  I'll wait. When does this end?  When does wimpy Omicron, which fersure has swamped Delta and left it far back in the rear view mirror, even those rear view mirrors wher

Westword and this site

Those are your two sources for outbreak information in Estes Park.  That and, currently, living at Good Sam's.  Or doing anything anywhere within 50 feet of Ravencrest, where the outbreaks are one unbroken perpetual outbreak.

Six people are running for the three town board positions

Two incumbents plus four newcomers.  Stay tuned.

Oh give me a home, where the COVID don't roam

And the Safeway is masked to the max.   That ain't Estes Park.  Maybe that was Kolovai, in Tonga, but there goes that neighborhood as well.  Good to see sheriff Justin Smith is running for County Commissioner in District 12.  Whoops, wrong nightmare scenario.  How could it get any worse for proponents of, oh, I don't know, mebbe eventually getting through this? You know the drill.  Another day, another 2000 dead in America.  Everything's good in America, just knock on wood in America, life can be bright in America, if you are able to make it past midnight in America, without getting coughed on seven times by random strangers in America.

Good thing one media outlet has the ability to post these updates

Apparently, our paper of record is too busy publishing public notices to publicly notice the tremendous uptick in local COVID cases, or offer any insight.  Here, though, we let you know that cases in Estes Park have increased by 350 since the beginning of the year, which means one out of three people you encountered at Safeway was likely infected.  Scuba suits may provide some protection, otherwise, just hope you don't have any underlying health problems, because our local hospital is bad (sorry, I meant bad, sorry, my mistake, the word I was looking for was "bad", apologies, what I mean to say was bad I mean "full").  Over on FB, Joe Holtzman currently recommends drinking your own urine, if that offers any solace or guidance or belly laughs.

My advice? Move down the hill to Glen Haven

Image
Cause it's gettin a bit jiggy up in here. 1580 cases when there were 1300 at the start of the new year?  Now that is nothing to sneeze at.

You can all breathe a sigh of relief

Image
Those of you still breathing.  We didn't record 2000 deaths from COVID-19 in the U.S. today.  Only reached 1969.  What a year that was - Woodstock, landing on the moon, things Americans could accomplish when the crackpots among them weren't cheerfully handed bullhorns to claim amplified music was the sign of the devil, worse than the Holocaust, etc., and the moon was obviously made of cheese, and landing on it would decrease the size of everyone's testicles, etc. This bit of good news means we can now postpone the million death hallows commemoration until the day after Easter 2022, meaning April 18.

Another day, another 2000+ deaths. You know the drill.

Image
What is interesting is that no other country is coming anywhere close to America when it comes to citizens who obviously want to die.  "'Merica is the greatest country in the world - I want to do everything in my power to kill myself here because I'm so happy." Oh well, with any luck, tucked somewhere amongst those 2000+ today were a few hundred or more genuine idiots who will no longer be able to virally replicate their nonsense on Facebook.

You know the drill

Our mayor is back contributing her piffle to the two news outlets in town.  The Trail-Gazette, which is about to lose $10k a year publishing public notices nobody reads (because nobody reads the Trail-Gazette), will continue publishing these weekly pep rallies despite the mayor treating them with outright disdain because they have no other content if Tim "Mosey" Mosier doesn't contribute something about more uncounted ballots remaining in Boulder County from the November 2021 school board election. The only thing the Trail-Gazette covers, badly, regarding our local school board is elections - The school board has met three times since that election, and the Trail-Gazette hasn't even bothered posting a Zoom link.  They still list the former school board president Laura "I Like Beer, Get Off My" Case as the contact for any school board questions.  Maybe Mike "Romano" Romero thinks she looks better in a bikini.  That's Mike on Mike - loves the siz

I get it. Omicron is a wimpy virus.

Image
So why, if Omicron has displaced and swamped Delta, which all the anti-vaxxers acknowledge and secretly hope is correct, are we still losing 2000 people each day in the United States?  And why are no other countries in Europe losing a commensurate amount?  Is it because they are vaccinated, while we still have a swath of 40% of our population in denial?  Hmmm. 2000 people a day x 50 days = 100,000 souls.  Should we start planning the COVID million death march commemoration for this upcoming Easter Sunday?

Holy Effing Shint

Image
This is really quite serious.  I included a screen grab of the entire page to put it in context.  Look how cases in Larimer County in the past week are off the effing chart.  Look how the largest number of cases are in the working-age population.  Estes Park has jumped from 1300 cases to 1500 cases in less than 10 days. The problem is not whether or not Omicron is less destructive to the lungs, or less likely to result in ICU admissions.  The problem is "who is going to be able to staff the hospitals, who is going to be able to drive the ambulances, who is going to be able to teach your children?" when every third person calls in sick. If you are not investing in a better mask, hell, if you are not double masking right now in Safeway, you are just asking to get infected.  Your vaccination status has very little impact on you contracting the Omicron strain of SARS-CoV-2.  So the anti-vaxxers created the reality they wanted to live in, now what are they going to do about it whe

Wow. Just Wow.

Image
We are really climbing case-wise here in Estes Park.  This despite not having a real 24 hour-a-day testing option.  You would think, locally. the town might curtail certain activities that occur indoors, or impose a more stringent mask mandate.  You would think.  But all they do is search out more population to add to the denominator, so it doesn't look like cases are rising as fast as Dirty Berthoud or Unwashed Wellington.  Even Drake has stopped holding church services.  But Estes Park just keeps plowing on, and our esteemed Chamber head shoots for the trifecta - Three different COVID-19 infections in three different years.  What a badge of honor.

Another fake COVID death among the anti-vaxxers

Image
Joe Holtzman must be carrying around a popcorn ball sized poop in his tighty whiteys right now.  All of his heroes and heroines (heroins?) are dying of COVID-19.  Of course, I'm sure its a government-led conspiracy to kill them because they don't believe in COVID-19, but Joe will get to the bottom of this, once he cleans out his underwear drawer. Again with the virtue-signaling cross.  Did our Lord and Savior not say in the book of Joe Chapter 6 verse 9:  "Blessed are the stupid and misguided, for they will die of COVID"?

Some day, we'll look back at these numbers

Image
and cry.  Right now, they are just meaningless cuneiform slashes, like Thai currency swings over the past six months or production numbers from a South Carolina Audi plant for those without the slightest knowledge of automobile manufacturing.  Because we are numbed to them, those of us paying attention, and because most people aren't paying the slightest bit of attention. During the downhill time, when Omicron came along as a gift, when the anti-maskers (who if they believed nothing else about science, started parroting endlessly how "mild"Omicron is) were given a gift, we are doing no better, and certainly by case counts much worse, than last January.  We have better treatment plans and more experience with how to treat COVID-positive folks entering the ICUs, yet we are still losing over 2000 people in the U.S. each day.  EACH DAY.  With all the testing we should be capable of (but aren't, because testing itself is derided as meaningless, but in reality, is just igno

61-year-old anti-masker. anti-vaxxer Doug Kuzma died of COVID? I'm shocked.

Image
He seemed to be the perfect example of natural immunity...And why spoil a Christmas celebration when you've got plenty of ivermectin close by? Of course, the rally he attended, where he contracted COVID-19, is now being championed as the site of a clandestine anthrax aerosolization.  Yeah, that makes sense.  Something the federal government fell all over themselves to investigate back when anthrax was sent to the National Enquirer in 2001 is now so ho-hum, spreading it throughout a packed gymnasium of non-believers is just a workaday experience.  Of course, you can test for anthrax exposure.  It has spores and things.  Creates antibodies.  Results in one to three days.  But why go to the trouble to prove something or even attempt to prove some outlandish claim when you can just assert you were the victim of an exotic anthrax attack at an anti-masking rally?  Reassures your next of kin and sets them on the path to their own private Idaho.

It is January 6. Estes Park has witnessed an increase of 100 SARS-CoV-2 cases in one week

Image
This is, umm, what is the opposite of good?  But of course we will have a town board meeting this Tuesday, because half of the trustees don't believe in COVID, think it is no worse than the flu, and the other half are too scared of the mayor to call in sick before.  They would rather actually get sick after.

That pesky dying thing related to the COVID hoax just won't stop

Image
But I'm sure it's just motorcycle accidents and bullet wounds and aortic aneurysms blamed on COVID-19.  I hear the hospitals get an extra $1 million per death assigned to COVID-19.  So why wouldn't they lower the average life expectancy in the U.S. to pocket a couple hundred million dollars per hospital.  I hear hospitals are actually going out and hiring hit men to run over people so they can get the $1 million bonus for putting "COVID-19" on the death certificate.  That's just what I heard from spending all my waking hours on YouTube searching for anything related to Alex Jones.  And drinking heavily.  Sincerely, your town board appointed and town board supported Board of Adjustment members. And lest you think this is not a Colorado problem, looka here - This is very much a Colorado problem.

Glad to see Joe Holtzman is still posting

Image
This means he is still breathing.  I think his posts are mostly in the "Holocaust denier" vein, and they are sadly ignorant and generally poorly spelled, but he is still one of our appointed town board officials, so bow to the wisdom of whoever appointed him, whoever continues ignoring these posts in a position of authority, and god forbid you never have to come before the board of adjustment if you are Jewish or, horrors, vaccinated. This was one pre-school teacher, pro-vaccine, who enrolled in a trial for the Astra-Zeneca vaccine and suffered some side effects in 2021.  The Astra-Zeneca vaccine is not used in the United States.  The two senators who wrote a letter to the CDC were Mike Lee and Ron Johnson, two virulent anti-vaccine wack-jobs.  But whatever, Joe.  Keep on keepin' on.

Increasingly, the freedoms espoused by anti-vaxxers include the freedom to die

Image
Remember when our beloved (?) weekly columnist on all things health-related, Debbie "Does" Holmes of Med-Ex, said that no one who was healthy would die of COVID-19?  That was back in March of 2020, when she was bitching about the state shuttering her workout facility and steroid abuse hotline for wayward ex-cheerleaders.  That Little Debbie is still writing weakly (sic) about health is a testament to the stupidity of the Trail-Gazette editorial board and their desperate need to plug the gaping holes in their paper with anything remotely approaching even grade school-level discourse.   In any event, 850,000 U.S. deaths later (certainly some of which involved otherwise healthy people, healthy, that is, until they died), we have exhibit 94,000C, a 46-year-old seemingly otherwise vibrant Holmesian named Kelly Ernby just somehow inexplicably up and dying.   Such a bright light on the political horizon, such a waste of bespoke tailoring, $250 highlights, and the prominent virtue si

Why are people in the U.S. still dying?

Image
Omicron is a wimp, right?  And Delta is its redneck pansy-ass cousin, right?  So why are we still seeing 1000 deaths a day in the U.S.?  And does 1 million mean anything to the covidiots, except as a number to spend more than $10 in Lucky-for-Life tickets on once the jackpot reaches it?  We will surpass 1 million U.S. deaths by March 2022, exactly 24 months after the first reported deaths occurred (or didn't, it was all a big government lie, as the covidiots will swear on their bulletproofed Bibles).  That is a lot of windfall profit for the undertakers (or not, because the deaths didn't occur and the undertakers put cats in those caskets).  Who in Congress owns undertaker stock?
