Its a f****** PCR test
Every virology lab in the country could run it. Every microbiology lab at CSU could run it. Why are we wringing our hands over lack/shortage of a CDC test kit when we no longer need a CDC test kit to make the diagnosis?
Colorado, and more particularly Larimer County (although Boulder should also be paying attention, that's right, CU), you were placed on notice six days ago. We have two major facilities in CSU and the CDC-Fort Collins that could be running hundreds of these tests just like UW. Easy. Why are we not gearing up to do so? Now. Not a rhetorical question. We need to have the ability to start testing for COVID-19 infections quickly. Not once we already have 270 confirmed cases. Before we have the 270 confirmed cases, so we can stop or slow down the progress to 270 confirmed cases.
