86 years ago today

The 3rd Winter Games held in Lake Placid, New York, were plagued with (a) the Great Depression, leading to underrepresentation of athletes from countries besides the U.S. and Canada (b) lack of snow (c) inadequate housing for the athletes (d) what would be considered cheating today in the two-man bobsled (this isn't a multiple choice question, unless you chose (e) all of the above).  Estes Park sent four athletes, although technically only one was a local product.  More later, and the anniversaries of their competitions arrive.
