When will it slow down?

 

Not anytime soon, obviously.  Larimer County is rethinking the mask mandate.  What does that mean?  Are they thinking about having a mask mandate?  Because, walking around Safeway, I wouldn't see much evidence of a Larimer County mask mandate.  Am I missing something?  When they do away with the mask mandate, will deaths in Larimer County go up or down?  Will anyone care, except the unvaccinated family members of the unvaccinated deceased, who will blame the government regardless of whether there is a mask mandate or there isn't a mask mandate?  I'm actually perfectly fine with doing away with the mask mandate, because it won't change anything in Estes Park - The people who want to wear masks will still wear masks, the people who want to risk death will still be out there calling the vaccine a death shot and filling up our hospital beds.  Maybe the county has finally gotten smart - You can only lead a dumb horse to water 15 times before realizing it thinks the water is actually a government plot to make it addicted to water.

According to the IMDb website, some portion of the movie Hostiles was filmed in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Does this look like Pagosa Springs? The movie is gorgeously shot, and the locations are breathtaking.  Being somewhat familiar with Pagosa Springs, though, I'm having trouble matching any of the exteriors with anything within a 10-mile radius of Pagosa Springs. According to IMDb The railway station at Chama, New Mexico served as the stand-in for Butte, Montana.  Chama is about 50 miles away from Pagosa Springs, and Pagosa Springs definitely sent some of its own down to Chama to serve as extras, one of whom is currently pedaling coal from the Chama location on Ebay. A big-budget movie filming in a community of 2000 is generally a newsworthy event.  Filming of Hostiles took place in the summer of 2016, and Pagosa Springs' newspaper of record, the Sun , made no mention of stars Christian Bale, Rosamund Pike, Wes Studi, or director Scott Cooper hanging out at P

The Estes Park Economic Development Corporation (EPEDC) is patting itself on the back because "the award for 'Small Community of  the Year' was presented" to them by the Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC) "on behalf of a town that sets its sights on building a more resilient, inclusive, and vibrant community and economy after recovering from the devastating Colorado floods in 2013." Jeez we have a bunch of milquetoast pretend journalists in town. The guy who was arrested locally a few clicks back, Keaton M.A. Krell, is the same guy who sexually assaulted a bunch of underage females in Linn County, Kansas, and, brazenly, got away with it. The airtight connection is through his wife or ex-wife or whoever star pupil and non-profit wunderkind Candace Krell is. But even then, c'mon, how many folks named Keaton M.A. Krell are running around diddling little girls? Get some cojones, POR (paper of record) and POR (podcast of record). You did the work (sort of) now publish the findings. Stop hiding behind the town as an excuse to avoid going to press - the PIO and TA aren't going to give you anything because they are scared of their own shadows.
