The hospital revolution notwithstanding

The hospital board met in executive session this afternoon beginning at 4:00 p.m.  MayBilly R.F.D. was in the room by 3:30 p.m.  (Not a lot of honey-dos on the list today.)  Seven to ten supporters of Dr. MacElwee were there besides those members of the hospital staff and administration that had to be there.  No public comment was allowed.  A motion to go into executive session was made by one of the team, seconded by another member of the team, and everyone not part of the apparatchik was summarily dismissed.  Unclear why public comment was not allowed.  Or, alternatively, unclear why public comment was ever allowed.  Those pesky kids.

Speculation:  Word somehow got out beforehand that this was a non-event, because no one of significance attended.  Jibber Jabber, with the help of Diddle Belle, intimated as much late last week.  Increasing calls to release the security footage have gone unheeded, as have pleas to not waste money on a third-party investigation, because the results are a foregone conclusion if the hospital is footing the bill.  It's like calling in a paid consultant - What results do you want?  I'm pretty certain the executive session (at which no decisions are made) was not about how best to word an apology, or how carefully to pack the departing CEO's golden parachute.

The next regularly scheduled fruit buffet is Monday, April 30.  However, board members may get hungry before then, so watch this space, because a special meeting can always be worked in.
