The population of Colorado is 5,759,000

The number of people in Colorado dead from COVID-19 since March 2020 is going to reach 10,000 by the end of this week, although the reported numbers won't catch up to this fact until the middle of next week.

10,000 divided by 5,759,000 is the same as 10 divided by 5,759 or around 1 in 576.  Most people in Colorado do not personally know, or can personally name, 576 members of their community, or even 576 Colorado acquaintances.  Their Christmas card list does not include 576 Colorado addresses.  Most do not have 576 Colorado friends on FB.

This is why folks like Bent Dick Turd Ferguson of Hyk on Elkhorn Ave can say the things on FB they do, take the outlandish dumps on FB they do.  Because you as an audience member don't know 576 people, and probably can't name or well up immediate emotions for 10,000 darts thrown at 5,759,000 balloons.

While there are some of you in Estes Park who know the immediate anguish of a family member or close friend dying of COVID-19, the majority of you do not.  I hope you never experience this.  I have yet to experience it up close and personal.  Sure, I am familiar with names, and I've probably exchanged a few words over the course of the past 20 years with at least two of the 14 members (currently) of the Estes Park honor roll, but it hasn't been a gut shot.

Either the next year will bring real suffering to many more people, and thus make folks like Bent Dick superfluous, they will just be voices in the wind, dismissed as the jabberings of lunatics, or things will somehow get magically better - NOT through any improvements on the human side of the equation, we've done everything we can do scientifically, we've led the horse to water with a vaccine that was 95% effective (at the time) and 99.9999% harmless, and 20% of our population chose a different route.  Purposefully and intentionally.  Because they don't have 576 friends, and fend mostly for themselves.  If they had more actual friends and actual lives, they wouldn't spend so much time on FB.  Fine, fine, fine, they are self-reliant, except they haven't yet purchased the at-home ventilator kits, and watched the YouTube videos on how to self-intubate.  So suddenly, when the going gets a bit rough, they want to inject themselves right back into the healthcare stream they have been assiduously working to destroy.

European countries are beginning to get fed up with this behavior.  They have decided, if the idiots and deniers in the room want COVID so bad, why don't they pay for their own treatment when things go south?  In certain portions of the U.S. over the coming weeks, paying won't even be an option.  There will not be any bed space available.

So long and thanks for all the fish, suckers.  The minute Omicron proves not to be "harmless", and once it becomes obvious it spreads from the unvaccinated to the incompletely vaccinated and takes out some completely vaccinated in its wake, I'm outa here.  Colorado and most of the U.S. is proving too stupid to fix, and however much you complain about elitism and privilege, the glossy pamphlets from island countries that have figured COVID out and stopped cottoning to conspiracy nutjobs are becoming more appealing every day, plus I'm fairly certain their aren't a lot of dumb wealthy people out there with watercraft and the means to sail them who will find similar safe harbor, meaning who will be able to greet the welcome wagon with bursts of uneducated bullshit and not find it impossible to locate natives willing to supply basic needs.  If they don't die from COVID (and they certainly won't be encouraged to live with COVID, or blithely ignore COVID protocol), they will wither from neglect.
